This innovative aquafarm is ran by Daniel “dan” Ward, a renowned aqua-culturist. Dan is constantly researching new ways to to apply to sustainably grow the aquaculture niche. He has been awarded many grants in doing so as well. Utilizing a unique culture method, ward aqua farms is able to produce fine oysters in the Massachusetts’s area.

This particular method uses land-based or floating upweller nursery systems. A Floating Upweller System (FLUPSY) are sea-based nursery systems for the cultivation of shellfish, such as clams and oysters. Their design allows them to efficiently grow large quantities of shellfish seed while remaining user-friendly and customizable. This also allows the oysters easy access to the abundance of food floating on the surface of the water.
