DMCA Policy

The Oyster Encyclopedia respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. This policy describes how copyright owners may submit DMCA-compliant takedown notices, and how users may file counter-notices.

Reporting copyright infringement

If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our designated agent including:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner (or someone authorized to act on their behalf).
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, including a URL or other location.
  • Your contact information (mailing address, phone number, and email address).
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on their behalf.

Counter-notice

If you believe your content was removed in error, you may file a counter-notice with our designated agent including: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the removed material and its prior location; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address, and phone number; and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or Georgia, USA, if your address is outside the United States).

Repeat infringers

We will, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
